Monica Stevens is a character from
Resident Evil Outbreak. She worked for the Umbrella Corporation under Dr.
William Birkin and was stationed at the NEST facility deep underground below Raccoon City. During the
t-Virus outbreak of 1998 she decided to use the decimation and chaos to her advantage plotted to steal a G-Larvae from right under her employers noses.
Staggeringly, she brutally murders one of her colleagues in order to obtain the G sample and then proceeded to the rail exit in order to escape to freedom. However, there was a problem with the train and it wouldn't leave the station. Instead, she retreated back into the facility to find another escape and bumped into an old colleague,
Yoko Suzuki who she (incorrectly) assumed was also after a G-Larvae sample. Forcing Yoko to relinquish her Umbrella ID Card (which would allow her into restricted areas of the facility and prevent the formers escape).
Her next escape attempt was to use the secret turntable which would allow a way to the surface - however this again was a flawed plan as a scientist had altered the climate control levels to below freezing in an attempt to slow down or disable the monsters in the area. This had a side-effect of causing all mechanical objects to freeze in place including the turntable itself. Unfortunately, the scientists freezing efforts didn't work and Monica was attacked by the monsters.
Monica managed to escape death but not for long as the G-Larvae she had been carrying with her had selected her as a host and infected her. She caught up with Yoko and some other survivors who had now reversed the cold temperatures and allowed the turntable to be operational again. Monica then lost consciousness as the parasite within her started taking control. Being an incompatible host, the resulting creature then burst out of her chest which killed her instantly. The G-Young creature then chased the survivors and was defeated.
She can be unlocked as a playable character and her characteristics are derived from
Alyssa Ashcroft.
It's also interesting to note that the faulty train car she tries to use in NEST is the very same that
Leon S. Kennedy and
Claire Redfield use at the end of
Resident Evil 2.
