Mia Winters is married to
Ethan Winters, and disappeared sometime in 2014 and was assumed to be dead. For all her family and friends knew, she worked as a nanny and travelled to different locations. In actual fact she was working as a operative working for a bio-organic research based crime group called The Connections and her role was as handler for
Eveline, an E-Type Bio-Weapon. She worked closely with a colleague named
Alan Droney and their task was to relocate
Eveline from the tanker Annabelle to a bespoke facility in Central America.
Whilst on the tanker, Mia recorded a video for Ethan explaining that she misses him and she cannot wait to end her current babysitting job (roughly speaking, she wasn't lying). However soon after this video a hurricane hit whilst the ship was near Louisiana and this also affected
Eveline who soon began spreading an infection known as Mold throughout and also infected several crew members, turning them into horrible monsters known as
Molded.
Her colleague Alan was killed, and Mia became infected with the Mold and in desperation Mia tried to send Ethan another video urging him to forget about her before what she assumed would be her end. Later she was thrown from the tanker and she found herself washed up in Dulvey, Louisiana.
Local resident
Jack Baker soon discovered her unconscious and brought her back to his home where him and the rest of his family lived. Mia recovered quickly and appreciated the kind help the family were offering, but at the same time, she tried to warn them about
Eveline who was still on the tanker, but she could not inform them in time and Jack had found
Eveline who had the appearance of a young girl, who then altered the family and subsequently destroyed them, their home and destroyed many lives.
Unfortunately around
Eveline's presence, Mia was occasionally unable to control her actions as
Eveline could take over and transform her into a monstrous version of herself. It was
Eveline who sent Ethan an e-mail with her location, prompting him to travel to the area and find her.
When Mia is under
Eveline's control, she becomes extremely powerful and violent. She attempts to kill Ethan many times throughout the course of his journey, having the power to throw him effortlessly against walls, stab him with knives and even dismember him with a chainsaw. While she can be defeated, her infection also provides her with supernatural healing. Ethan seemingly killed her several times, but each time she is revived.
Interestingly, It is possible to kill Mia if Ethan decides not to give her the serum and instead give it to Zoe. In this scenario she becomes fully enthralled by
Eveline and attacks Ethan with a knife, but is finally killed with a crowbar through her chest. This scenario is non-canon.
