    Survival Horror Evolves.

Resident Evil 7 serves as a departure from the traditional Resident Evil as a more action-oriented but intimate experience with first-person camera perspective. The developers of the game gathered feedback from players of their more recent games such as Resident Evil 6 and decided to reduce the amount of inspiration derived from popular cinema (large action-based set pieces, dramatic bad guys etc) and develop something more devoted to exploration and survival horror. You play as Ethan Winters who is searching for his missing wife Mia and he ends up locating her in a derelict plantation in the Deep South - Louisiana, US where it's inhabitants are infected with a strange supernatural fungus known as Mold.

The game was universally praised, with critics approving of the new camera perspective, the focus on exploration and puzzle solving, the atmosphere, the graphics, level design and the characters themselves.

The game became so popular that a sequel is being developed, Resident Evil Village - featuring the same character Ethan as the player.
