David Anderson was a local police officer from Dulvey Parish who worked his way to the the rank of Deputy Sheriff, and he had extreme suspicion that the Baker residence may be the source of all the kidnappings and murders in the area, and repeatedly attempted to examine the property and attempt to confront the inhabitants. It's likely he could not get an official warrant to enter the property, and on one occasion he knocked on the front door and
Jack Baker and
Lucas Baker heard it and recognised who it was.
What he did not know was that at the time,
Ethan Winters had been captured by the Bakers and at the time was being attacked and Jack was attempting force feed him human organs. However the officers arrival interrupted them, and they both went away to deal with the situation which allowed Ethan time to escape.
Ethan and Deputy Anderson met through a boarded up window and initially he was suspicious of Ethan, assuming he had some part in the disappearances. After a quick discussion, the officer handed over a small pocket knife as Ethan pleaded with him to give him something to defend himself from the Baker family, particularly Jack who at the time was actively pursuing him.
The two agreed to meet in the garage - and just as they started to talk, Jack attacked Deputy Anderson with an axe, slicing clean through his head, cutting it in two and killing him instantly.
Ethan managed to grab the officer's gun and a subsequent battle ensued between Jack and Ethan.
David Anderson was dead, but his body was later found by Ethan hanging in a special dissection area covered in black fungus, where it's likely the body was beginning to be converted into a horrible beast called
Molded.
However, the body was later taken by
Lucas Baker before this process could complete, he removed the head completely and attached a taunting note, informing Ethan that there was a key placed in the neck which he needed to progress.
Deputy Anderson's head was also found by Ethan in a refrigerator with shark teeth and covered in more black fungus, resembling a
Molded. It's likely that the rest of the process if allowed to finish and enough Mold in the area, in time will result in a full mobile
Molded creature.
The Deputy was likely reported missing by his department, where he was most likely added to the list of missing persons from the Dulvey area and assumed to be dead.
