Resident Evil Survivor 2 - Code: Veronica is an arcade-style light gun game developed by Capcom in partnership with Namco. It was released on arcade and on the PS2 and is the second game in the Resident Evil Survivor series (and so far, it was the last one released). In Japan the game is known as Gun Survivor 2 Biohazard Code: Veronica.

The game recycles a lot of material from past games, especially Resident Evil Code: Veronica / X, Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. It's also worth noting that this game is considered non-canon and in fact even in the storyline it is revealed that all of what has transpired was in fact was a nightmare Claire Redfield was having after the end of what happened in Code: Veronica.

You play as either Claire or Steve Burnside who was her companion in Code: Veronica. The goal is to escape Rockfort Island and as the gameplay is your run of the mill light gun shooter, the only way to win is to blast your way through, reloading as often as possible and to finish a stage within a time limit or be killed. It's recommended to play the game with two players as they can assist each other.

The game more or less follows the plot of Code: Veronica but as mentioned earlier material from earlier Resident Evil games make an appearance - unusually even the Nemesis T-Type from Resident Evil 3 makes a regular appearance although Claire Redfield never encountered it. Although this is quickly explained in some hard-to-find lore which states that Umbrella dispatched a Nemesis T-Type unit to Rockfort Island after the area was overtaken by the H.C.F.

The game was well received by players and the game also helped to boost the arcade scene slightly in Japan back when it was released. The console release which came out in a handful of regions a year later also well received as it was considered a good port. However it never made a US release which means a lot of players would have missed it.
