Macdowell (written in the game as "Mac Dowell") is a character from
Resident Evil Outbreak.
He was a mercenary who was working for Umbrella Corporation under their Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service (U.B.C.S.) and was sent into Raccoon City during the
t-Virus outbreak and tasked with helping towards the effort of containing the spread. He was probably a citizen of Raccoon City itself (or at least lived nearby) as he had a girlfriend named Mary who also lived in the area.
He was part of the U.B.C.S. squad led by
Arnold and took position on an overpass where they all had a reasonably good view of the city. Communications were sent to the team from their superiors to try to retrieve a stolen B.O.W. (Bio-Organic Weapon) named
Nyx but the instruction was ignored. Instead, the squad held their position and Macdowell set up a minefield in order to fortify said position.
He along with the rest of the squad soon left the city once they heard of the intention to destroy it with a nuclear explosion. It is thought that he and the others in the squad survived the ordeal.
While Macdowell can't be used in the game as a playable character, he can be forced in with the use of a cheating device where he shares characteristics with
George Hamilton.
