Kurt (surname not known) is a character from
Resident Evil Outbreak.
He was an experienced freelance journalist who was one of the first people who became suspicious that something strange was happening in the Raccoon General Hospital (RGH) with many patients who seemed to be relatively healthy entering and then leaving through the morgue. After doing lots of research on Umbrella Corporation, he realised that a network of shell companies had been set up purposely to obfuscate any truth. He was admired by the up-and-coming reporter
Alyssa Ashcroft and she followed him where she could.
Kurt began to realise just how big this could be, and he surmised that Umbrella had some kind of influence over the city, including its police department (RPD). Frustrated, he entered the hospital himself and searched for a restricted area which could potentially reveal some truth to his suspicions. However, he was attacked by a
Zombie who was previously a woman named
Dorothy Lester. She partially consumed him but some time later died for unspecified reasons (possibly a heart defect which she was born with). When Alyssa finally caught up with him, she was too late and witnessed his killing first-hand.
The traumatic experienced had a profound effect on her and Kurt's death would not be for nothing forever. Many years later, a
t-Virus outbreak occurred within Raccoon City which turned the majority of its residents into zombies. This forced Alyssa and a number of other survivors to flee the city and along the way they returned to the hospital and there they collected enough evidence to prove that Umbrella was the cause of all of this chaos and upset.
Kurt can be unlocked as a playable character and has two versions. One is based on
George Hamilton and starts in the Fine condition. The other (which is him in his injured state) is based on
Jim Chapman and starts in the Danger state.
