David King is a character from
Resident Evil Outbreak. In his youth he was unruly and arrogant. While he matured in some areas as he got older, other things did not change - such as when the
t-Virus Outbreak occurred in Raccoon City he decided to ignore all warnings and remain in the city.
He was employed as a plumber and after such a shift one night he decided to go to Jack's Bar in downtown Raccoon City for a drink or two. Shortly after arrival however, an infected
Zombie burst into the building and attacked a bar worker. This prompted him and the other survivors at the bar to find ways out of the city, and David was himself fairly adept at survival and knew his way around a gun - so he pressed head on through the monsters.
He tagged along with an Umbrella survivor named Dr.
Carter who knew of a prototype anti
t-Virus medicine named AT1521 (it was designed to stop the
t-Virus from progressing any further after an infection) and they both went to try to recover it. Soon after this they were joined by another Umbrella survivor,
Linda Baldwin. However, they were beset by a series of Umbrella B.O.W.'s (Bio-Organic Weapon). Dr.
Carter knew of a creature they could use to help fight alongside them named the
Tyrant R; it was due to be stress-tested by the B.O.W.s in a combat encounter, so using it in this manner would not have been so different.
However, the Tyrant proved that its intelligence was far too great and began to perceive David and his companions as a threat. First it killed Dr.
Carter - and then, attempting to escape, they then ran into a completely different B.O.W. named
Nyx. Dreading the worst, the Tyrant caught up with them and was preparing to attack. Next, without any provocation the
Nyx absorbed the Tyrant into its body and took on its genetic material.
David and his companion managed to destroy
Nyx, but not completely. As it was specially created to constantly regenerate itself, it regained composure and resumed the attack after a short period of time. It was then that
Ada Wong appeared and defeated it once more.
After the incident, David escaped the city and presumably lived the rest of his days continuing to work as a plumber.
The creature was completely destroyed when the entire city was destroyed by a nuclear missile.
In terms of gameplay, David is a strong character and always has a tool belt equipped where he can create useful items such as throwable wrenches. He can also repair and maintain weapons for himself and other characters.
