Karl

Karl (surname not known) is a character from Resident Evil Outbreak. He is also known as simply "UBCS 1".

Not to be confused with Karl Heisenberg from Resident Evil Village.

He was a member of the Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service (U.B.C.S.) a mercenary outfit employed by Umbrella Corporation. He was part of Nikolai Zinoviev's team and their official role was to enter Raccoon University in Raccoon City and find an experimental Tyrant B.O.W. (Bio-Organic Weapon) named Thanatos, bring it back dead or alive and also retrieve a sample of its blood.

Little did he know however, Umbrella knew this was not possible and only Nikolai knew of the true mission - to use his team as bait for the creature and collect the sample. Then destroy the university building to cover his tracks. As expected, Karl and the rest of his squad (save for Nikolai) were decimated by Thanatos when it activated as they approached it, sending it into a blitz.

Karl can be unlocked as a playable character and his characteristics are based on Kevin Ryman.
