Dorothy Lester is a character from
Resident Evil Outbreak.
She was the wife of
Albert Lester and citizen of Raccoon City. Her husband was the director of a hospital in the Arklay Mountains region on the outskirts of the city and he received secret funding from Umbrella Corporation to conduct illegal human trials on a new cancer-killing treatment codenamed T-JCCC203. Albert opted to utilise his wife in these trials as she suffered from congenital heart defect, had terminal cancer and required oxygen at all times in order to help her breathe.
Her husband conducted one trial prior which showed promising results but eventually ended up in a dead but cancer-free patient. He then decided to do the trial on her, which at first showed promising results - her heart had strengthened and she could breathe unaided. But after this everything else started to deteriorate and she eventually succumbed to the effects of the
t-Virus (which was a core component of T-JCCC203) and became one of the first zombies in Raccoon City.
An investigative reporter named
Kurt had suspicions about what was happening at the hospital and began to explore it. He eventually found Dorothy who then lunged at him and started to consume him. Shortly after this she died for unknown reasons (possibly her previous conditions returning) and was later enveloped by a
Huge Plant nicknamed Dorothy by Albert, who after many years grew insane and started to see the plant as the reincarnation of his wife and began to feed it in order to help it sustain itself and grow.
Her body was later recovered by Albert who got to see her one final time before they were both ultimately destroyed when the hospital collapsed due to the plant being killed by Raccoon City survivors who fled the city during a mass evacuation event after a
t-Virus outbreak occurred in the city.
She can be played through unlocking and her characteristics are based on
Cindy Lennox.
