Huge Plant

The Huge Plant was a colloquial name given to a green plant which was once normal vegetation. It was assumed to be a regular plant and was placed in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) at a hospital up in the Arklay Mountains quite near the Raccoon City. At some stage it became infected with a very early Umbrella Corporation drug named T-JCCCC 203 which was a cancer-beating prototype that was based heavily on the t-Virus. While the drug was proven to be effective at killing cancer cells, it also gave the user an insatiable hunger for flesh and ultimately killed the person entirely.

Many factors including the death of hospital director Albert Lesters wife, Dorothy Lester due to the prototype drug forced the hospital to close and become an abandoned husk. It was here that the plant was able to thrive.

When the plant received the infection, it began to grow exponentially from its core in the hospitals ICU. It began to spread through the entire building much like Plant 42 was able to in the Spencer Mansion. It then 'found' the corpse of Dorothy Lester and seemingly captured it into its core. Also, the Huge Plant is covered in orange bulbs throughout the hospital which have their own name - Evil Shade.

The vines of the Huge Plant were so strong that it was able to break down supporting structures of the building and create its own - most likely the most straightforward way to promote growth. However this did have a negative effect once a handful of survivors visited the hospital many years later - the building had become so decrepit that destruction of any of the vines meant that rooms would collapse.

When Albert Lester eventually returned to the hospital to see the plant in its enormity, he saw it as the reincarnation of his lost wife and began to do evil deeds for the sake of the plant. He began taking the mantle of an axe murderer and little by little he gradually 'fed' the plant bigger and bigger animals until eventually be began killing humans and feeding those to the plant as well.

Eventually, the Huge Plant was destroyed leaving the hospital in a critical state. As the walls came tumbling down, Albert rushed to the core and discovered the partially mummified corpse of Dorothy. Still firm in his belief that the plant was his wife all along, he remained with the body until he was crushed to death.
