Kathy (surname not known) is a character from
Resident Evil Outbreak. She is also known as "Nurse 1".
She was a nurse practitioner at Raccoon General Hospital (RGH) in Raccoon City and was present at the start of the
t-Virus outbreak which ravaged the entire city during September of 1998. At first, an influx of patients began to overload the hospital with the same affliction - itchiness, an insatiable hunger, coming in and out of consciousness and then finally rage, paired with tissue necrosis and cannibalism. Nobody at the hospital was prepared for it and also nobody had realised that the city's water supply had been contaminated with the virus which meant that the majority of people in the city were infected, Kathy and her peers were no different.
She was unavoidably attacked by one of these infected (known as zombies) and received a deadly bite to the neck which caused a terminal bleed. She succumbed to the effects of the
t-Virus before her death, leaving her permanently injured body reanimated as a
Zombie.
Kathy was later killed by survivors that explored the hospital, where she was found roaming the hospital.
She can be unlocked as a playable character and shares characteristics with
Cindy Lennox. Interestingly her 'zombified' character model is used as a generic design for female zombies around the Raccoon General Hospital maps in the game.
