Fred

Fred (surname not known) is a character from Resident Evil Outbreak.

He was a Raccoon Police Department (RPD) officer and was active during the t-Virus outbreak of Raccoon City which wiped out hundreds of lives and eventually caused the city to be annihilated in a nuclear blast.

He himself remained at the police station building in an effort to fortify it and convert it into a safe zone prior to an evacuation. He and the rest of the limited crew attempted to secure the building with barricades, but they all slowly realised that their efforts were in vain as one by one more of their officers went down and re-emerged as zombies.

Fred eventually helped hatch an escape plan using an old system of ventilation ducts with his lieutenant Marvin Branagh, fellow officer Rita Phillips and a handful of other survivors. The plan was for Rita to enter the system and try and escape through it and call for help (nobody else would fit through the vents, her smaller stature made her the only option) and whilst she did this Fred moved up to the roof of the building and waited for an evacuation helicopter to arrive.

Unfortunately, the many crows which would usually litter the rooftops had also succumbed to the effects of the t-Virus and now enjoyed the taste of living flesh. Fred became overwhelmed by the sheer number and was pecked to death and slowly eaten.

Fred is playable after unlocking as part of a package that contains other RPD personnel. His characteristics are based on George Hamilton.
