Bob (possibly short for
Robert, surname not known) is a character from
Resident Evil Outbreak. He worked as a security guard for Raccoon City security company Scutum (a word which means 'Shield' in Latin). He was a colleague and friend of
Mark Wilkins and was with him at Jack's Bar in downtown Raccoon City when the
t-Virus Outbreak reached a critical point.
At that time, very little was known about the outbreak and how it propagated so quickly but it was eventually learned that the water supply had become contaminated and Bob himself felt that something inside him was very wrong. Unfortunately for him, he was right - he had become infected and the
t-Virus was gradually taking over. He began feeling an ravenous hunger which nothing seemed to sate.
Whilst at Jack's Bar with Mark, he began drifting in and out of consciousness, causing some alarm. As he was going through these episodes, a
Zombie entered the bar and attacked the bartender Will - Mark decided to stay with his friend as he was in need too.
Mark takes Bob to the roof of the bar in order to get him to safety but Bob knows it is too late and the only way to end things is to commit suicide before he turns into a
Zombie.
Interestingly, it is possible for Bob to be killed earlier if the player hangs around too long inside Jack's Bar. In gameplay, his attributes are (rather fittingly) derived from
Mark Wilkins.
