Meset (which means "Moonlight" or "Moon" in Serbian), is one of the evolutions (sometimes referred to as Complete Mutations) that can occur from a C-Virus infected person emerges from their Chrysalis. A typical infected such as a J'avo will usually enter a Chrysalid state once they have sustained a lot of damage, but sometimes an infected person can enter a Chrysalis almost instantly, possibly depending on will or emotional state. This particular form (which was mainly seen emerging from a Chrysalis) takes the form of a completely mutated flying monster.

Whereas the majority of Chrysalid mutations retain a human frame, all of that is seemingly lost with the Meset. Instead, they have the appearance of a dinosaur-like bird, with feathered wings and a large body. They have sharp talons as well as some razor-like pincers at the front of their bodies. They have fairly large mouths filled with small sharp teeth.

They tend to use their ability to fly most of the time, choosing to stay airborne and distant, only closing to attack when they find an opening and then retreating back into the air. In rare instances where they find themselves landed on the ground, they will rise up on their two legs in a human fashion, with their heads slung backward which gives the appearance that they are looking up into the air.

They have also been known to grab their prey and lift them into the air only to drop them from a height in order to kill them - this behaviour is derived from the way a Crow will drop a nut from a height in order to break the shell.

Interestingly, the Meset can be eliminated rather quickly with the use of Flash Grenades. The flash disorients them and forces them to stop flying and the sudden impact with the ground is enough to kill them. This proves that they have a rather weak skeleton (most likely a lightweight structure to allow them to fly more easily).

Also, the creature may also be more accurately known as a "Mesec", as the Serbian word for "Moon" is "Mesec" and not "Meset" - the error is probably due to translation as from the Japanese "メセツ" - "Mesetsu". Translation errors commonly occur when moving from Japanese to English as translators usually do have an amount of wiggle room as long as it is contextually fine.
