Romper

The Romper resembles a decaying humanoid which has an gorilla-like gait (resting its long arms on its knuckles). It's eyes have been stapled shut by what looks like two metal staples through the skin around each eye socket and it's mouth appears to be nothing more than a vertical tear in its face, with no supporting structure where the chin would usually be - this cavity extends through the neck and stops at the upper chest area. Inside of its mouth are small noodle-like tendrils that hang down.

Perhaps as a reference to servitude or control, the Romper wears a leather collar that is connected with a silver ring. In terms of it's connection to Alessa Gillespie, they are meant to represent the controlling nature of older people, particularly to small children like she was.

As such, when the Romper attacks it does it with power and confidently, shoving its prey to the ground and standing over them as they cause harm. While they mainly use their sheer strength when they attack, they can also literally 'go for the jugular' and bite their preys neck for a quick kill. They are also exceedingly fast which is how they got their name - they bundle or 'romp' their way towards a source of interest recklessly. On most occasions as they do this they can also be heard vocalising in a way that sounds like laughter.

In terms of encounters, they mainly are encountered outdoors in the Fog World by Harry Mason. While it's best to try to avoid them entirely, if they must be battled then a powerful and fast weapon is required such as the Shotgun.
