Puppet Doctor

The Puppet Doctor is the name given to a range of monsters who were once human doctors working in the Alchemilla Hospital in Silent Hill, Maine. They are all infested by a large slug-like parasite which finds its home on their backs and essentially controls the body and mind completely - it's thought that their human consciousnesses are completely gone and they now only exist as a vehicle for the parasite to pilot.

Due to the sheer size of the parasite, it tears right through their white coats which causes the host to have a severe hunch. They are all encountered in Otherworld by Harry Mason, alongside the Puppet Nurse which are similar but of female origin.

The Puppet Doctors have three slightly different appearances with differing face types and hairstyles; interestingly they all seem to have short and neatly groomed hair. Also, one appears to have a thin 'soul patch' style goatee. They all wear a typical doctors white coat with a white shirt underneath, finished off with a navy blue tie. The Puppet Doctors are all equipped with sharp knives and will use them to attempt to stab Harry.

As they share a lot of similarities with the Puppet Nurse, their behaviour is also rather similar. However, they are much less common than their female counterparts and are actually less ferocious as well. They are relatively slow with their actions and only have one attack which is a stabbing motion. Due to their movement speed, the best course of action when one is encountered is to try to position Harry away from the front of the monster and decimate it with the Hammer.

Finally, in terms of their symbolism they represent Alessa Gillespie's views on Doctors, most prevalently her hatred of them and hospital environments in general.
