Duvalia (which is named after an exotic, star-shaped succulent plant) is one of the more advanced stages in the Type 3
Plaga life cycle.
Importantly, the creature must be a type of
Majini to begin with; a human host who was initially parasitised with the Type 3. Until a significant amount of damage is sustained, it appears to be no different from a standard Type 2 or Type 3 infection, where the
Plaga exhibits some control over the subject but only partially. However, similarly to how the
Cephalo emerges, the Duvalia will emerge from the host body in an explosive fashion.
Duvalia's eruption completely destroys the entire body from the pelvis upward, opening the entire top half like a flower. Physiology is changed dramatically and control shifts to the
Plaga completely; it resembles a flesh-covered flower with sharp teeth and bones scattered throughout. At the rear is a long piece of flesh which resembles a tail - and it's clear from the ribcage that the majority of the human upper body makes up part of this.
At the centre of the chest is a mouth, which has a clamping force so powerful it can shear a human body in half with ease.
Interestingly, when the Duvalia is not actively engaged with an enemy, it will wrap its 'petals' around its body like a flower. It's also worth mentioning that these parts are heavily armoured on the outside, meaning that attacking one is pointless unless its arms are opened.
