The Chainsaw
Majini is the Kijuju counterpart of the
Chainsaw Man (or Dr. Salvador) - both were
Plaga-infected humans who had undergone mutations which increased their height, pain threshold and vitality - they also have adopted a balanced symbiosis with their parasite which makes them a more intelligent killer. Due to their sheer strength, they are used by the
Majini to defend high security areas, and as such often carry items such as keys.
As their name suggests, they always carry a petrol-powered chainsaw and like their Spanish brethren, wear a burlap sack over their heads (however, in their case only one eye is exposed). They are shirtless and appear to have a few pounds of flesh missing from their bodies.
Interestingly, unlike in
Resident Evil 4 where the
Chainsaw Man can actually decapitate the player with the chainsaw, this is never seen in
Resident Evil 5. The camera simply moves away from the action to give the player the illusion that he has been decapitated (this may have been a way to simplify different countries' rules on gore - as in
Resident Evil 4, things had to be censored depending on the region).
