"Rick" was the code-name given to a male member of S.O.R.T. (Secret Operation Raid Team) and was part of the squad sent to investigate Ibis Island and recover scientist Dr.
Edward Kirk along with any useful data regarding his clean energy research project named Third Energy. His role in the team was as a technology and computer expert. He was led by "
Gail", the S.O.R.T. Team Leader along with "
Regina" - a weapons expert and "
Cooper" - the communications expert.
He and the rest of his team landed on the island via parachute - shortly after they lost contact with both the helicopter pilot and
Cooper (was eaten by a dinosaur, but presumed M.I.A. as this was never seen by others). So himself,
Regina and
Gail both made it into a facility where they began to try to piece together what was going on as the power was mostly out and there were no people in sight. They all soon discovered that prehistoric dinosaurs were running rampant throughout the facility.
While
Regina and
Gail remained outside, Rick entered a building and located a main control and security room where he remained for the majority of the mission.
Regina eventually restored the power by re-installing four batteries in a specific order, so Rick could then utilise the control room to assist both
Regina and
Gail remotely. Occasionally the trio met in person to discuss their next moves, but also as a way to observe the facility through its many security monitors. It was there that the team discovered that Dr. Kirk was still alive along with at least one other survivor.
In an effort to rescue the other survivor, Rick left the control room and accompanied
Regina to their location.
Gail on the other hand decided that focusing on the core mission was the best course of action. Rick and
Regina soon found the survivor,
Tom, in a bad way. They try to nurse his wounds but
Tom sacrificed himself by drawing attention to himself when a
Velociraptor entered the room. He saved Ricks life, but his loss took a huge toll on Rick. Feeling dejected, he returned to his safe haven, the control room and stayed there in solitude for a while.
Regina soon met up with
Gail again and resumed their mission. Rick remained silent until
Regina and
Gail triggered a lockdown which sealed them into a security room. He sprang back into action and gave the team a handful of options on how to proceed fast as a horde of Velociraptors were attracted by the noise and began closing in on their location.
