Regina

"Regina" is the code-name given to an anonymous female member of the Secret Operation Raid Team (S.O.R.T.), which operates under the US Army. Her core skills are intelligence gathering and weapons, and on her mission to Ibis Island to investigate a facility her role was weapons specialist. However, her team were quickly scattered and she was forced to take a more prominent role in the mission.

Her investigation into the island concluded with finding a device which harnessed Third Energy, which was able to manipulate space-time. This was the main reason that dinosaurs appeared on the island and disrupted the facilities there. Upon her return to base with the handful of survivors left, she was debriefed and her membership to S.O.R.T. was wound down.

Some time later, when Third Energy resulted in an entire region of Earth to regress into prehistoric times, Regina was brought back into service as a member of the Tactical Reconnoitring and Acquisition Team (T.R.A.T.) along with a large team of seasoned soldiers. Her role in this mission was more direct - rescue as many people as possible whilst also taking on dinosaurs and also recovering any useful data regarding Third Energy.

Regina is the player character in Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2. She is fully voiced by Stephanie Morgenstern in English versions. Unlike most Capcom survival horror titles at the time, there is no alternate male protagonist. There are up to 4 costumes that Regina can wear for the game. She may be of Japanese descent as her facial features in promotional material (including the US cover) appear to be such, although this could simply be artistic licence from the designers.
