Ndesu was a B.O.W. (Bio-Organic Weapon) developed by TRICELL in West Africa - building upon research data taken from the
El Gigante designed by
Los Illuminados. It takes its name from an African man-eating monster commonly depicted in folklore.
Appearance-wise, they are almost identical to an
El Gigante and have the same kind of strengths and weaknesses. Using TRICELL's own Type 2
Plaga, they are slightly more intelligent and social than their Spanish brethren - supporting this is the fact that at least one Ndesu has been seen wearing the bodies of its slain enemies as a trophy belt. Interestingly, they all have a long, grey beard which at least proves that the human test subjects were male and quite old (possibly even near death).
Due to their sheer size, they have been implanted with several Type 2 Plagas, all working in tandem to sustain and operate the beast. Due to the fact that the majority of these have been rather haphazardly installed, they have been left with large wounds at the surgery site. As is typical with
Plaga, once a certain level of damage is sustained to the host they will emerge from the body while they work to recover the host. It is in this stage where the Ndesu is most vulnerable as if all
Plaga are destroyed, the Ndesu can no longer function.
Interestingly, they also wear spiked wrist and ankle bracelets, possibly fitted as part of their outfit for defensive reasons. They also have a small rope around their necks - possibly to indicate that they were once tethered to something.
