Bui Kichwa (roughly translates as "
Spider Head" in Swahili) is the local name given to a
Plaga Type C. What sets them apart from most
Plaga is that they have fully matured and no longer need a host body; they have since left their host behind and now take the form of a massive, multi-legged arachnid-esque creature.
Like spiders, they act mostly on instinct and rely on sensing vibrations in order to identify prey. They have been observed burrowing underground and lying in wait for an unsuspecting victim to walk on top of them. Once detected, they will burst out of the ground and attempt to pounce at their prey with the aim of infecting them with a Type 2 Parasite.
To help them in capturing their prey, all of their legs are covered in thorn-like barbs which hook into the flesh and cause even more damage when their victim struggles.
Unfortunately for them, they are incredibly weak - a knife is more than enough to kill one; this is the main disadvantage of not having a host body - without their 'armour', they have only minimal defences. It's unknown whether they need to return to a host body in order to sustain themselves in an adult form, but it is thought that they generally do not live very long as a Bui Kichwa.
