The Centurion was the name given to a mutated centipede which lived around the
Umbrella Executive Training School in the Arklay Mountains. Most likely due to a minor oversight caused by
James Marcus while he was conducting early experiments with the
t-Virus, a passive centipede inadvertently consumed material which contained the virus.
This caused it to mutate and grow massively and proportionally in size - like most infected with the Alpha strain - intelligence was not altered in any meaningful way. The creature managed to survive in a breeding pool area where it waited for its prey.
It was encountered by
Rebecca Chambers and
Billy Coen whilst they were exploring the area. Seemingly taking her in order to disrupt
Billy, it grabbed Rebecca and held her close so it's body. However,
Billy being a good shot managed to cause it to drop her and then start moving around the room in an evasive manner.
It was eventually killed by Rebecca and
Billy.
