"I can handle this on my own. And don't call me 'little girl'."

Rebecca Chambers was the youngest member of S.T.A.R.S. (Special Tactics and Rescue Service) which was a top-tier police unit that operated via the Raccoon City Police Department. She was the newest recruit who had been assigned to Bravo team as a medical expert - she also had firearms training but was less experienced on the field than any other of her colleagues.

She was assigned to work closely with fellow colleague Richard Aiken who took her under his wing to ensure her well-being in her new role. Outside of her duties she was also a keen basketball player, even joining the Raccoon City Police Departments very own team.

Her first official S.T.A.R.S. mission was a complicated one. The team were responding to calls that reports of cannibalism, brutal murders and strange creatures appearing were all occurring around the Arklay Mountains region, quite near their home base of Raccoon City. Both teams arrived separately - Bravo team arrived first and as they approached the heavily forested Arklay region their helicopter suddenly began developing engine trouble with forced the team to land in an unsafe zone.

The team including Rebecca pressed on through the forest and found a crashed US Marines transport which had two dead occupants on board as well as documentation showing that there should have been a high-risk prisoner on board named Billy Coen who was due to be executed - and the team speculated that it must have been Billy who had killed the marines and potentially it was him that was causing the entire disturbance. So team captain Enrico Marini decided to shift the search focus purely onto finding Billy.

Monsters began to rain down on the team, some were chased by Cerberus dogs and others by Zombies so the team had to split up. Some didn't make it, some escaped into the nearby Spencer Mansion - and Rebecca found an Umbrella train named the Ecliptic Express which she boarded. On board she found many bodies, most of them had become Zombies and she also found evidence of an infected Leech infestation.

She managed to find Billy Coen on board the train, who clearly had escaped with his life and he repeatedly told Rebecca that he had nothing to do with the deaths of those marines or any other for that matter - he and Rebecca decided to team up in order to keep alive but Billy also flat-out refused to turn himself over to the authorities at the same time.

The two fought various creatures on board the train including a strange Leech creature what would be known as Mimicry Marcus. What they had to do was find a way to get the train moving which by that point was lacking in power. Using teamwork they managed to work their way through the train up until a UBCS team descended on it in order to attempt to secure it, but almost immediately after they managed to re-enable the power on the train they were set upon by the Leeches which eliminated them within a matter of moments.

Once the train started moving, it became clear to Rebecca that it was moving too quickly and they were running out of track. She and Billy hastily tried to find a way to slow the train down and eventually managed to engage the brakes - but it was too little too late and the train ran out of track and ploughed through a train station until coming to a complete stop on the ground. Fortunately Rebecca and Billy escaped the train without a scratch so they pressed on into what they discovered was an Umbrella laboratory of some kind.

While exploring the lab which also had a training centre attached to it, Rebecca and Billy discovered many strange creatures there which seemed to have been developed by Umbrella, as well as information regarding a director of Umbrella named Marcus who left increasingly more disturbing memos regarding the organisation and his own sanity. They also learned of a rivalry between two Umbrella scientists who turned out to be Albert Wesker and William Birkin - but at the time they only had the first names and thought it interesting how one of the S.T.A.R.S. team captains shared one of the names.

Rebecca was attacked various times by creatures and each time Billy managed to save her with his superior skill in the field. It was at this time where Rebecca started to wonder if he was the murderer everyone said he was - or was it all a lie? She began to suspect something wasn't quite right and that maybe Umbrella was involved. As they continued progressing through the building they discovered that Umbrella conducted illegal experiments on humans and had potentially murdered thousands, including children for their scientific discoveries. All of the monsters they had seen thus far had been designed by Umbrella, either through direct research and development or accidentally.

Soon after this point Rebecca and Billy became separated - and Rebecca ended up in an underground cave where she happened to meet fellow S.T.A.R.S. member Enrico Marino who was glad to see her alive. Rebecca explained to him that she had Billy Coen at her side all this time but she has just recently lost him and wanted to go and capture him again - Enrico decided that she must do it alone and he attempted to find his way back to the Spencer Mansion where he came from and all other surviving members of S.T.A.R.S. were located.

Rebecca pressed on and managed to find Billy once again but the two were approached by James Marcus once again - who looked different. Previously they had met him as an old man covered in Leeches. This Marcus was younger, fresher - something odd was going on. The Umbrella director explained to them that he was indeed murdered by those two rivals from before (Albert and William) but he was brought back to life by his precious Leeches - and it was indeed he who caused the t-Virus outbreak in the Arklay Mountains to begin with which is what caused so many Zombies and other creatures to exist out in the open.

After he reveals the truth to Rebecca and Billy, he begins to change - he starts turning into a large Leech creature named the Queen Leech. The pair had to think on their feet on how to combat the creature as shooting it appeared to do nothing. Eventually they realised that the creature had a severe sensitivity to light - any powerful light source was enough to destroy it. The Billy and Rebecca worked together to distract the creature - a plan was hatched to open up the sky so that sunlight would pour into the room. This was a success and the Leech creature was severely weakened - and it was finished off with a Magnum bullet to the chest.

After the incident, the building exploded from a self-destruct sequence which was triggered. Then Rebecca and Billy went their separate ways - with Billy handing her his prized Dog-tags, which was a symbol that a soldier had passed on. This hopefully was enough evidence to show that he was gone. Rebecca thought this would be a good opportunity for him to have a fresh start and live in peace - he had saved her life countless times and she was there to protect him when he needed her also.

After Billy wandered away, Rebecca turned her attention back to her original S.T.A.R.S. mission - she knew of the Spencer Mansion from her encounter with Enrico and it would be her next destination. After searching for some time she managed to find the building nestled in the forest and entered the mansion.

She found the interior appearing empty - she searched a handful of rooms and found a dormitory which seemed secure and had comfy beds. She was so exhausted from everything she hunkered down and slept to try and regain some strength and composure - it was all a bit too overwhelming for her. It was soon after this that her previous partner Richard Aiken finally found her again.
