The
Uroboros Test was the first trial on a live human body with
Albert Wesker's modified
Uroboros virus. The virus was intended to bestow superhuman abilities on only those who had the 'correct' genes and attributes - and on all others, an intense rejection occurred where the virus would overwhelm the body and turn it into a mindless mass of tentacles and twisted body parts.
A local Kijuju man was selected at random by
Jill Valentine, who had been medically brainwashed by Wesker to do his bidding. At the time, it was completely unknown whether the main would be compatible or incompatible with
Uroboros, so the experiment was of great interest to all those involved (which also included TRICELL's
Excella Gionne). The man was taken to a room adjacent to a furnace and strapped to a chair. Then, he was injected with the virus and placed under observation.
Briefly, everything seemed to be in order and the main remained composed. However, things soon took a turn and dark, slimy tentacles exploded from his mouth and then began to take over all of his body. His skin would be torn away from his muscles, his muscles became withered and his skeleton would be snapped, twisted and stretched out of proportion.
Uroboros had rejected his physiology and destroyed him from the inside-out, reducing him to a writhing tentacle-laden monster with orange pustule-like organs littering his body. He was then abandoned by his watchers and left to stomp around the room. He managed to make his way through more of the building and appeared to be indestructible; he encountered resistance in the form of B.S.A.A. agents and killed them all with ease. Any form of attack would cause some tentacles to drop off in clumps, but these would quickly regenerate.
At a glance, it looked like a tangled mass, but if one were to look closely they would see the form of a human inside, with identifiable arms, legs, torso, chest and skull.
Its left arm remained mostly intact, whereas its right arm was missing the hand. Both of its legs ended in stumps as both feet were missing. Its torso was detached from the hips but reconnected with a large dark mass of flesh (possibly a huge tentacle) which connected all the way up to underneath the ribcage. The chest area was mostly complete, but with a lack of skin and muscle the majority of the ribs were exposed. The neck and jaw were both snapped and pulled far out of proportion. Interestingly the top half of the skull was fairly intact; even both eyes were untouched and open. The left ear was missing, but the right was intact.
The monster was later encountered by
Chris Redfield, who managed to lure it into the incinerator room. Using a control panel, Chris sealed him inside the room and blasted him with extreme heat; this proved to be an incredibly effective offense.
Interestingly it is possible to kill the
Uroboros Test monster without the incinerator. In fact, it will drop a Gold Ring treasure item if killed with weapons. It's fairly difficult to kill it this way so it is definitely more of a challenge. Also, on harder difficulty levels, it will need to take a few trips to the incinerator to be killed completely.
