Soldat Panzer (Meaning
Soldier Tank, from German) was a massively armoured version of the Soldat, where its entire body has been encased in layers of thick scraps of makeshift metal.
The Soldat Panzer was human-based monster that has been combined with the
Cadou parasite and a lot of machinery. The
Cadou was used as a sort of
Battery dressed up as a glowing red / orange reactor core which replaced the human heart and essentially powered the creature. The Soldat Panzer were designed to act as tanks (given their name), allowing them passage even in the most dangerous of places. The intention of
Karl Heisenberg was to use them to rush enemies and bring them down quickly.
Karl originally experimented on unwilling human subjects, looking for a way to manufacture an army in his factory. The Panzer designation is based on the fact that they are heavily armoured, very much like a Tank.
Karl built the Soldat Panzer to be the ultimate version of the standard Soldat. Using what he had learned from the Eins, Zwei and the Jet, he built on the advantages and disposed of the disadvantages. Therefore, it was given three drill-arms and was encased from head to toe in heavy armour. Ventilation systems had to be designed to keep the machinery cool, therefore fans and conduits can be seen throughout the creature. The
Cadou was supplemented with more machinery and electronics to help facilitate the movement of the host. As with other forms of Soldat, the brain is essentially inactive and required machinery and electronics to help the
Cadou control the host. This requires an apparatus fitted to the head, but in the case of the Panzer, the whole body was encased in thick armour so it is difficult to determine how it works - in combat, this armour can be removed which can leave the head exposed - there appears to be no kind of headset or mask so it is unknown how the body operates in this version - perhaps there are internal electronics.
After the armour is blown off, the
Cadou reactor core can be seen on the front of the body, roughly where the heart would be. A direct hit to the core will temporarily stun the creature. It is thought that the reactor cores are exposed due to a problem with heat dissipation - the red / orange glow is likely a by-product of this.
When defeated, the Panzers will explode due to the reactor overloading.
