The Iron Maiden (Strong Threat) is an advanced, unique variant of the Iron Maiden, which is a mutated version of a Regenerador who has lost all of their additional parasitic hearts. Known as 'The Wandering Dead' by The Merchant, this creature is much stronger and unpredictable than a regular one - an extremely unsettling thing considering that even a regular Iron Maiden is formidable.

The creature appears in the incubation area of the underground laboratory - a location which houses Regeneradores in some kind of suspended animation. It is an area Leon S. Kennedy has to backtrack to in order to encounter the monster.

Visually, they look like a normal Iron Maiden but with a much darker skin tone with a slightly rougher looking texture.

When Leon and the creature meet, it is flanked by a few Regeneradores and they will all attempt to kill him at the same time. Although keeping back is the best course of action, caution must be maintained at all times as the Iron Maiden has the ability to effectively close in almost instantly, due to the fact it can extend its limbs and impale their prey with spikes.

When engaging with the creature, it is advised to utilise the Biosensor Scope attached to an appropriate weapon such as the LE 5 submachine gun - this will allow the user to pinpoint weak points and take it down more productively. However, it must be said that looking through the scope also leaves the user open to attack from the sides or behind - so use caution. On the Iron Maiden the main weak point is in their heads, just behind their teeth.

Once defeated, it will fall to the ground and explode, showering the vicinity with spikes which launch from its corpse.
