Ganado Desnucado (Translates as 'to break the neck of Cattle') is one of the first true indicators that a villager infected with a
Plaga parasite has had their entire body overtaken by it. After a regular infected has sustained sufficient injury, there is a chance that the parasite will attempt to take control of the host.
In most instances when the villager has been sufficiently damaged, their body will fall to the floor and then convulse as the
Plaga mutates rapidly. In all cases, the neck is broken by the parasite - the head leans to one side and a small part of the
Plaga will emerge from the now exposed throat opening. Then, the parasite controls the host body directly and attempts to kill any threat it faces.
If any other part of the body of a villager is severed, tendrils which belong to the
Plaga can be seen writhing from the injury site (for example, if an explosive is used and the villager body is blown to pieces) for some time until the body begins to rapidly reduce to biomass. This is most likely a function of the
Plaga to prevent it from being analysed after death.
They are relatively easy to deal with as the hosts are already in a weakened state and the mutation has simply reanimated the body. Plus, if
Leon is fast enough he can stab a villager which is currently undergoing the mutation to halt it completely.
This type of
Ganado did not appear in the original
Resident Evil 4 and as such is exclusive to the Remake.
