Ark Thompson was an ex-soldier who later became a private investigator and one day he was asked by personal friend
Leon S. Kennedy to gather intel on the remote area of Sheena Island to confirm that Umbrella was carrying out Bio-Weapons research there and also return any useful data and if necessary, eliminate any threats and destroy any research. When he arrived he discovered that the island was operating in complete disarray and eventually he was found to be acting suspicious enough for the commander of the island
Vincent Goldman to incorrectly assume that he was actually on the island under Umbrellas instructions to investigate him personally for his experiments and subsequently unleashed B.O.W.s (Bio-Organic Weapons) and caused a major
t-Virus outbreak in order to attempt to protect himself and also kill everyone on the island in order to keep people from talking.
Under the confusion Ark managed to infiltrate top secret research facilities and removed research pertaining to the Tyrant project. Later he was spotted by Vincent and a brief chase occurred where Vincent managed only to snap some
Dog tags off Arks neck - culminating in Ark falling from a great height when he lost control of a helicopter.
After a period of unconsciousness Ark reawakened with a head injury - he could not remember anything about himself and later discovered he suffered from amnesia. When he wandered around he noticed the body of Vincent who Ark incorrectly assumes is Ark Thompson due to the
Dog tags on his person. At this point he has no idea why there is a
t-Virus outbreak but nonetheless finds a nearby handgun and sets off to discover the truth and kill some Zombies along the way.
He meets fellow survivors
Lott Klein and
Lily Klein along the way and eventually he overcomes his amnesia and immediately remembers his purpose on the island and the actual identity of Vincent. He then resumes his mission to infiltrate the island further and works towards closing the island down for good.
When everything comes to a head he is beset by an experimental Tyrant named the
Hypnos T-Type which was developed by Vincent and its key feature was that its body constantly regenerated the most optimal cells and rejected all weaker variations constantly making it a much more fearsome beast than an ordinary
T-103.
The beast was soon eliminated by Ark in another helicopter when it was blown to pieces by the onboard missile launchers. Also, as the island fell to ruin and there was nobody else there to maintain the systems eventually everything began to overload and everything on the island explodes, eliminating everything that lived on it.
After the incident it is assumed that he resumed his role as a private investigator, primarily on smaller jobs as he has not been used by
Leon again since.
