B.O.W. is the name given to the Bio-Organic Weapon which was aboard the Starlight passenger ship. The creature resembled a
T-103 Tyrant but it did not wear a
Power Limiter, plus it also had a handful of unique characteristics where it could implant others with parasites which could then develop into a full B.O.W. (such as in the case of
Lucia) and it also had tentacles around it's torso area which it could use as weapons or defensively.
The B.O.W. itself caused a
t-Virus outbreak on the Starlight, and the parasite caused another one on a submarine which was sent to collect
Leon S. Kennedy and
Barry Burton. It was subsequently revealed that the B.O.W. was sent by Umbrella to retrieve the B.O.W. parasite, which was implanted in
Lucia.
Interestingly the B.O.W. parasite had the ability to take the shape of a human and possibly other shapes as well. It even had the ability to mimic human speech, a first for an Umbrella B.O.W. up until the
Nemesis T-Type, which was a further evolution of the
T-103 Tyrant.
