The Old Hag was a form which the powerful shapeshifter known as
Mother Miranda took - she resembled an old woman who had the classic 'old hag' appearance comprised of a dark cloak and wooden stave, along with adornments made out of bones. As
Mother Miranda could seemingly take any shape, this form was most likely taken to appear both unsettling and harmless.
She appeared to simply wander around the main Village area and occasionally interacted with
Ethan Winters. While her true identity was largely hidden, there were several instances where a connection could be made such as one occasion where a figure (later discovered to be
Mother Miranda) was seen in between some tall crops viciously killing the local resident
Iulian and then moments later, the Old Hag had miraculously appeared outside a dwelling.
Also, while she appears to be rambling and laughing to herself, she is also etching the Cult of the Black God symbols into the ground with her stave.
