Katherine Warren was the daughter of Raccoon City's mayor Michael Warren. She was abducted in the confusion when the city was hit by a
t-Virus outbreak by Raccoon City Police Department chief of police
Brian Irons who was a secret serial killer who had a fascination with young beautiful blonde women. Her father had already fled the city leaving her for dead.
Brian was also fascinated with taxidermy and had his own special room in the police station. Little did his colleagues know, he also performed taxidermy on site and even performed a sick version of taxidermy on his human victims also, turning them into strange trophies and harvesting body parts. In his diary he described her as "soft, sweet, and white all over".
At first Katherine was not aware of his intentions, but as those were later revealed to her she then attempted to escape his clutches. However this was part of his plan; he got a kick out of stalking her as was his twisted mind. Eventually he did kill her but not long after Brian himself would meet his end when
William Birkin attacks him.
In the non-canon The Ghost Survivors, which is additional content for
Resident Evil 2 (Remake), Katherine is playable and it is possible for her to turn the tables on Brian and she is able to kill him. As mentioned however this was more of a 'what if?' and in the official storyline Katherine is not alive.
