I'm not going to get everything done that I wanted to before the weekend is over, but it's progress.

Picked up 2 new goodies over the week - a new turntable an a pro-ject vinyl vacuum. It took me a while to get the turntable set up properly cos linux' audio stack is a convoluted mess but it's all good now, looking forward getting these damn records digitized to MP3 already

I can't go in to many details, but I'm a Civil Servant.

Ah cool. I nearly became a civil servant a few years back, got a job at DWP but had to turn down their offer in the end as I got a better opportunity elsewhere. I've done stints as a contractor at both HMRC and DWP in the past and I loved the working environment. I may well end up reapplying in the future.

My first ever job was at the DWP... I was put in bereavement services.

Of all the roles to give to a teenager just starting in the world of work!

I applied and was successful about 20 years ago, then the recession hit and suddenly the job offer was no longer on the table.

I've done several jobs in-between, but after hating a new job move in 2021 - an opportunity came up to apply via an agency. From there I applied for a permanent contract and was successful, and just recently applied for a promotion and was successful
