Tofu

Tofu is a large, sentient block of tofu. It belongs to a family of other sentient foodstuffs and they all appear to be of Japanese origin. How they came to be is unknown and what is especially interesting is that they can move around freely and use weapons like firearms, knifes and hand grenades without any obvious limbs. They can also utter phrases (in Japanese).

Tofu is made of plain unseasoned tofu which is made from soy beans, Konjac is a corn-based gelatine, Flan is a custard dessert with caramel drizzled on top, Uiro-Mochi is a sugary sweet made of rice flour and Annin Tofu is an almond milk dessert with sugar and gelatine (or agar).

It's clear that the infected enjoy eating tofu and his friends.

In Resident Evil 2, Tofu was a development tool used to help test collision. The tool was then fleshed out into more of a comedy character and was even given sweary voice lines in Japanese. It was then left in the game as a secret unlockable character in the 4th Survivor minigame where you would usually play as HUNK.

In Resident Evil 2 (Remake), Tofu appears once again in the same fashion but also other tofu 'skins' were added which had different abilities. It also now appears to be one of the last surviving members of S.T.A.R.S. (it wears a beret which bears the logo).
