The NE-α (Nemesis Alpha) is the result of a regular
t-Virus infected
Zombie having an additional Nemesis Parasite infection which gives them much greater combat capabilities. They are created when the
Nemesis T-Type infects a victim with a parasite directly which latches onto the head of a
Zombie and assumes control of the entire nervous system - rather similarly to how
Plaga used by the
Los Illuminados cult control the bodies of the
Ganado.
Nemesis Alpha have both offensive and defensive enhancements. They can use tentacles as weapons and also their parasitic bodies protect the head of the
Zombie - and destroying the head is one of the few ways to eliminate one, so protecting the head offers immense protection, a huge advantage. They also have a huge mouth surrounded by many sharp teeth which is capable of biting through skin and bone with relative ease - they have been observed devouring an entire human head in one bite.
They do have their weaknesses however, causing enough damage to the host body causes the parasite the enter a recovery state where several weak points become exposed while the parasite attempts to regain full control of the
Zombie. In this state, the parasite can be destroyed and subsequently the host will also perish as their minds cannot function on their own once a parasitic infection occurs. It is not known whether a host can be taken again by other parasite but it is likely.
These types of creature were uniquely found in Raccoon City during the
t-Virus outbreak, but Umbrella and other companies such as TRICELL continued to research the benefits of parasitic infections as well as viral infections, leading to similar parasites being created such as the
Plaga Type 2 and Type 3.
