Anyone Excited for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 (2026)?

With MW4 only a couple of months out, I'm curious where everyone here stands. The demo seems to have landed with pretty mixed reactions, which honestly feels like the norm for Call of Duty at this point. When that many people play a game, you're going to get every opinion under the sun.

Personally, I'm on the fence. The gameplay looks solid enough, but the big downside for me is that it won't be on Game Pass. That alone means I'm probably not grabbing it unless the reviews are genuinely amazing. I don't mind paying for a good CoD, but I'm not dropping full price just to "hope" it's good.

What about you all? Did the demo get you interested, or are you waiting to see how the full release shakes out? Anyone planning to pick it up on day one?

It really is. I actually enjoyed it when they tried something different with Infinite Warfare (the space setting, the tone, the campaign structure); it was one of the few times the series genuinely broke out of its comfort zone. But fans absolutely tore it apart, and ever since then it feels like the devs are scared to experiment.

Sometimes I think the fanbase ends up being its own worst enemy. People say they want innovation, but when CoD does anything outside the usual modern‑military formula, the backlash is instant. So now we're stuck in this loop where the devs don't want to take risks, and the series keeps feeling more and more predictable.

I'd love to see them try something bold again, but I'm not sure the community would let them.
