Safsprin

  • Safsprin was a medical product manufactured and sold by Umbrella. It appeared to be primarily for headaches. It was sold in small glass containers and was most likely a pill, although it could have been a liquid. It's clear the product was a top seller for them, and one of the rare occasions where a genuine safe medical product was produced by the company.

In their advertising they use the tagline "The Common Cure" - which also could mean that the product would help against viruses such as the common cold.

In real life, Safsprin is obviously a play on the real-world painkiller Aspirin. Advertising for the product is available to view in Resident Evil 3 and oddly enough the text used to describe the products use is gibberish typing - short excerpt: "dfghdfyd rtydrtu tydjtyfio" … and so on. As the game was designed to be rendered at 320x240 resolution on a standard definition tv, this wasn't meant to be readable - plus the fact that the text was flipped so it read backwards. However, it is clearly readable with modern technology!
