Robbie the Rabbit is a hallmark character from the
Silent Hill Series, his first appearance starting with
Silent Hill 3. He is the character mascot of Lakeside Amusement Park, often appearing as an unknown person in costume, lifeless dolls, or as plush toys.
He appears as a cartoony pink rabbit, with large eyes and a smiling face, wearing dark overalls and a green bowtie.
Robbie generally is seen as a contrast to the rest of the elements of
Silent Hill in which he is bright, colourful and friendly looking. In some appearances however, he is bloodstained around the mouth. He is not usually seen to actively cause harm, simply causing distress by his unusual appearance. For example, in
Silent Hill 4: The Room, a Robbie doll can be seen sitting on a bed, inactive. Later, the same doll can be seen looking directly at the camera, pointing. In a lot of cases the eyes of Robbie are fixed on the camera, as to cause unease directly to the player.
In other
Silent Hill appearances Robbie's inclusion is nothing more than a cameo, something for the player to spot. Most notably in
Silent Hill: Relevation (movie), hundreds of Robbie toys were made and placed around the Lakeside Amusement Park set. However, his 'canon' appearance is from
Silent Hill 3, and the fact that he exists in other media just shows that the character is extremely well-known in the universe.
