What channels do you most commonly find yourselves watching? Let's try and put together a directory of sorts.. 🙂

Comedy / Pranks

Miscellaneous

Video Gaming

I'll just do gaming channels first cos.. Urgh there is a lot to get through.. :daydreaming:

Bawkbasoup

Speedrunner - Runs Resident Evil, Dino Crisis, Silent Hill, Turok. He plays a lot of randomisers and weird mod versions of games. All his content is via Twitch but a lot of it ends up on YT

Linkus7
Speedrunner - Runs Zelda, Mario, Minecraft. Plays randomisers and weird twitch live stuff where the viewers try to mess with his game. The stuff on YT is basically just edited versions of his Twitch streams.

ZFG
Speedrunner - Exclusively runs Zelda.. 95% of content is Ocarina of Time related. YT stuff is all Twitch archives. Plays randomisers and hacks too.

PointCrow
Speedrunner - Mainly plays Zelda Breath of the Wild and Pokemon. Heavily edited stuff from Twitch?

Oatsngoats
Speedrunner - Mainly plays Metroid games? But kinda does a bit of everything. Stuff on YT is via Twitch.

Games Done Quick
This is the channel where 'official' GDQ speedruns are posted. The content is mega varied but all speedruns.

EZScape
Not updated terribly often, but the content is more about 'drama' and other goings on in speedrunning community?

The Retro Future
Cool dude, makes videos on Nintendo handhelds mostly. He gets hold of rare stuff and has videos on repairs and modding of said handhelds too. He's funny as well at times.

TripleJump
All their content is kinda lifted from other sources, but its put together well and is kinda funny and interesting. It's mostly "Top 10's" type stuff.

Slope's Game Room
Makes a lot of videos on the history of game franchises and weird kickstarter campaigns. His videos are looooong but interesting documentary-style stuff.

Shesez
Mainly does a series called Boundary Break, which he explores stuff not meant to be seen by the player in games. The guy behind it is very thoughtful and pleasant as well.

BigMooney06
Mainly does challenges in Hitman and Fallout? But it's his editing and his voiceover that makes it for me, it's really funny. Imagine a Scottish guy voicing Agent 47's inner thoughts.

DigitalFoundry
This is the place to go if you'd like to know how a new game performs, what the best version is and what are the best visual settings to use. Pretty much every professional and amateur uses DF as a resource.

Rerez
Team of people that do really nicely made videos on games and weird hardware. Their series on Worst games ever is hilarious in parts!

GameHut
Channel set up by Jon Burton who was the Director of Traveller's Tales (Sonic, Lego series etc). He explains how he made classic games from a technical point of view. Interesting. Also shows unreleased footage etc.

AI and Games
Documentary style videos by a guy called Tommy Thompson where he does deep dives into how AI works in specific games.

Gaming Historian
Nicely made stuff in a relaxed way, documentary videos on how classic games and hardware came to be. Mainly Nintendo stuff? But kinda everything overall.

Retro Game Mechanics Explained
EXTREMELY technical stuff on.. retro game mechanics. Lots of code in here. Wanna know how all the Pokemon sounds worked? Or how glitches occurred in old games? Or how old consoles even worked? It's all here.

GDC
Presentation style content via the Game Developer Conference. I like the post-mortems that developers do on their games. You also have professionals there who explain how they do their jobs.

Larry Bundy Jr
Bit of a legend. Started doing these kinda videos on TV. "Top 10" style content, but really specific stuff e.g. 5 Game Companies that Stole Artwork.

Nextlander
Really like the personalities of these three guys. They left a big gaming site called Giant Bomb and decided to go it alone on a Patreon-supported route. They play new games and have other long series' where they play other stuff, to completion.

LGR
'Lazy Game Reviews'. Although he doesn't really do much of that these days, it's just LGR! He mainly has old computers and weird hardware, 'oddware' which he shows off.

Ahoy
This guy doesn't make many videos, but when he does the quality is outRAGEous. Documentary videos on games and weapons. His style is ridiculously good, check em out.

NoClip
Premium video game documentaries but where they actually interview the people that made the games. Free to consume. Fronted by Danny O'Dwyer, professional video game journalist.

Getting Ready Episode 2 GIF by The Office

I mean.. I could do all my non-gaming channels..

Ashley Neil is great for driving videos. I loved watching him before I passed my driving test and I still watch him because you get to learn quite a bit from him. He has some great compilation videos as well.

Kitchen Nightmares is amazing for when you just want to relax and enjoy Gordon Ramsey shout at other people.
