I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what Netflix can come up with for this..

There's still not too many details as filming has reportedly been delayed due to COVID, but here's a quick round-up:

• Resident Evil live-action series confirmed by Netflix with first details
• Resident Evil Netflix series announced and here are the first story details
• Netflix's Resident Evil series will star the Wesker kids

Woah I had no idea this was on the cards! THIS IS BLOODY AWESOME!!!!

I have faith in it being decent with it going on Netflix too. Netflix knows what the audience want, I still remember watching the first Resident Evil movie and whilst I enjoyed the film, I was expecting something closer to the original game.

Soo this was recently released!

I've been watching it, it's not terrible? I would say though that it is very 'by the numbers' so far. I'm not really into the action scenes too much, but I'm quite liking the more dramatic scenes.

I'm gonna reserve my true judgement until I've finished the series. I've had a look at the overall reception and it seems average to negative. Although we are a fan site, I won't just blindly say that it's amazing but in the same breath I'm not going to slam it for being too 'hollywood' and not using game characters etc. They can alter the thing all they like from the source material.

It's just nice that the series has had a revival.

I was talking to a colleague about running a Resident Evil fan community just a few days ago, and their response was:
"The Netflix series sucks"

So it's kinda put me off from investing the time at the moment, especially whilst it's in short supply!

I would take that with a pinch of salt. I think all scenes with Lance Reddick in are superb. If they took everyone else out and swapped them with pieces of play-doh, I'd be more inclined to watch it again.

I've just started watching it, finally.

I'm only a couple of episodes in but sadly it's not too difficult to see why the fans didn't particularly embrace it, and it got cancelled.

I mean, Albert Wesker being referred to as Al just doesn't fit. That, and so far it's not really adding any value to anything that has come before it.

So yeah, it got a bit better - but (evidently) not enough to save it.. The whole clone storyline was pretty mediocre.
