For fans of good horror comics, there's no better place to turn than the IDW Dark imprint. IDW Dark focuses on both spinoffs of popular movie franchises like Smile and Event Horizon, as well as original stories like Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees. Just in time for spooky season, IDW is about to debut a new entry in the A Quiet Place franchise called A Quiet Place: Rising Tides.
Ahead of its November release, IGN can exclusively debut a new preview of A Quiet Place: Rising Tides #1. Check it out in the slideshow gallery below:
A Quiet Place: Rising Tides is written by Declan Shalvey and illustrated by Luke Sparrow and Colin Craker. The series tells a standalone story in this horror universe, so no prior experience with the films or IDW's previous miniseries is needed.
Here's IDW's official summary of A Quiet Place: Rising Tides #1:
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…
When a young woman named Grace tracks her estranged father to a run-down houseboat in the Florida Keys, she expects disappointment, resentment, maybe even closure. Instead, the entire world ends.
Now stranded in the aftermath of the invasion that shattered civilization, she and her sick, aging father cling to survival on the open water—the only space safe from the creatures who attack at the sound of a single breath. But his oxygen is running low, supplies are disappearing quickly, and the deadly predators circling the shoreline are learning fast.
And on top of it all, a hurricane is coming.
A tense, new emotional story begins within the world of the acclaimed A Quiet Place franchise. Declan Shalvey (Moon Knight, Wolverine, Terminator) and Luke Sparrow (Terminator) ask: What would you do when stuck between the choice of sudden death or rising tides?
A Quiet Place: Rising Tides #1 will be released on November 18, with a final order cutoff of October 12. You can preorder a copy at your local comic shop.
A Quiet Place: Part III is currently slated for release on July 30, 2027. Director John Krasinski recently confirmed the new and returning cast members for the sequel. The franchise also recently made the jump to games with A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead. You can read IGN's review of the game.
