Donald Trump tests positive for Coronavirus

US President Donald Trump has said he and First Lady Melania Trump have tested positive for coronavirus and are now in quarantine.

Mr Trump, aged 74 and therefore in a high-risk group, wrote on Twitter: "We will get through this together."

Mr Trump has mostly spurned mask-wearing and has often been pictured not socially distanced with aides or others during official engagements.

Mr Trump's physician, Dr Sean Conley, released a statement late on Thursday, saying the president and the first lady were "both well at this time, and they plan to remain at home within the White House during their convalescence".

"Rest assured I expect the president to continue carrying out his duties without disruption while recovering, and I will keep you updated on any future developments," the statement said.

Well after some of his decisions and actions regarding the pandemic, this feels like a bit of karma.

Of course, I fully anticipate that he'll make a complete recovery.

Hopefully he does, I refuse to wish the man I'll health regardless of politics.

He has made some outlandish claims regarding covid, so hopefully this is a wakeup for him.

This could turn out to help his campaign since now he can relate to many people but he also can give them encouragement and that is really needed right now. The MSM tries to keep people in fear with their drama of death and sickness but they keep forgetting to talk about the 40% who get the virus and remain asymptomatic. So with Trump having the virus and not dying, well, that gives older Americans a lot of hope that maybe it's not an automatic death call like the media tells them. What I find interesting is that in the earlier months when the virus came, that there were older people on a cruise ship that were asymptomatic and we don't hear much about them.

As soon as the news was announced, stocks & the crypto market crashed within hours. It's difficult to say how much longer we'll be suffering the economic effects of the pandemic. I'm hoping the UK will re-bounce within a year, but that's a bit optimistic. It was bad news to hear he tested positive but I'm glad he's made a swift recovery at such an old age.
