Do you like hot weather?

It seems like people generally enjoy clear skies and boiling heat... It is associated with 'good' weather.

I personally hate it when its hot. I find it really hard to stay cool but when its the other way around, its a lot easier to stay warm when its cold.

So yeah... I prefer cold weather. That's 'good' weather to me!

I don't mind hot weather, and of course you go on holiday hoping for it.

..but when you've had it for a number of days already, and you're having to work, cook, and other "normal" things - it gets a bit much

Thought I'd revive this thread, since the UK is currently entering its fifth heatwave of the year.. although to be honest it kinda feels like it's just been a constant since May!

How are you coping? Have you invested in air conditioning?

The heat appears to be causing hairline cracks on the walls in our house. We're assured that it's more of a cosmetic thing.. but it still doesn't look great (especially when we're selling!). We haven't invested in air conditioning but we have two fans - one upstairs one downstairs..

I despise the hot weather immensely.

I have a portable air conditioner.. but after 1 day.. the compressor broke. So no cooling. Now I just use it as a huge fan.

I would buy a new one but you just can't! Sold out everywhere.

I think deserts have got the right idea. Hot during the day, cold at night. I can handle a fair bit of heat during the day, but I really struggle if it's too hot at night, can't sleep at all. But with the recent heatwaves in the UK I'm starting to not enjoy the daytime as much. I have considered getting an aircon unit of sorts, more so for the kids bedrooms!

I'm a cold weather person, give me plunging temperatures and snow, and I'm at my happiest. Doesn't mean I don't like hot weather though, I just don't like the UK hot weather - we're not built for it, and it hits differently from when you are holidaying abroad. Thankfully, in Scotland, we've not seen the extreme highs that have hit parts of the southern UK.

Yeah I'm most certainly thankful for living in the far north of England. I feel for those down in the south and the temperatures they've been experiencing. I was recently down south in Tunbridge Wells for a few days and it was sweltering hot, such a difference.
