I'm admittedly not much of a camper. I prefer home comforts such as, oh I don't know... a bed! 🤣

However, this weekend I've reluctantly agreed to go on a camping weekend with my wife, daughter, and some friends. The weather is expected to be warm and dry, and we've borrowed some equipment to save us buying everything.. I think I'll be fine once the beer starts flowing.

What about you, love it or hate it? Any camping stories to tell?

Camping has always been a thing in my family, so I've definitely got a soft spot for it. We don't get out nearly as much as we used to, but we still try to make time for a trip every now and then. It's nice to unplug for a bit, sit around a fire, and just be outside.

That said, our dogs add a whole new layer of headaches to camping now. I don't mind bringing them; they're good boys, but a lot of people seem to think "campground" means "off‑leash free‑for‑all," and plenty of those dogs aren't trained well. We have a Rottweiler, and while he's the biggest baby in the world, if an off‑leash dog charges him and things go sideways, he's the one who'll get blamed no matter who actually started it.

So it's become a bit of a challenge to plan trips around places where we can keep the dogs safe and avoid other people's chaos. We still enjoy camping, but it definitely takes more effort and caution than it used to.
