Anything you want to learn?

Is there anything that you've decided that you'd like to learn (no matter how random), but just haven't gotten around to doing yet?

I want to learn to;

1. Whistle loudly with my thumb and index finger in my mouth
2. Air-shuffle a deck of cards and do a couple of card tricks
3. Speak fluent French

I'm always learning but I would love to master the guitar. I would say I can play competently enough but I mainly rely on muscle memory to play tunes rather than knowing exactly which notes to play.

One day.. Hopefully.

Funnily enough this is one for me as well, always loved hearing people do it at techno gigs but I just end up slobbering all over my fingers while I exhale air...
I can't think of any others right now.

I wanted to learn to play the guitar once upon a time.. I never tried though, and I'm not so bothered about the idea anymore.

I wouldn't have mentioned it but seeing it mentioned here, I would love to be able to whistle using my fingers as well. Basic magic tricks that involve playing cards would be great as well. I also want to be able to do a front or back flip but it's not something I would ever attempt realistically

I'd like to be proficient with PHP, but I just don't have the time or patience to learn.. I know enough to get me by.

I've just signed up to a Microsoft Windows Server Training course for work..

It's one of those that I know enough to get by, but it would be nice to feel more confident doing server related tasks - especially as I plan to decommission and repurpose one or two of the school servers (virtual and physical) that I'm looking after. It'd be nice to be able to further impress my new employers!

You're the same as me lol. I had to use PHP recently for a Uni project and I know enough to create a decent enough website. But I don't think I'm good enough at it for larger projects. Definitely something I would love to improve in, but I'm too lazy.

Just thought I'd bump this thread up to say I've been trying to learn basic Japanese for a good while.

Mainly because I import quite a lot of Japanese games (I'm something of a collector myself

) and there are so many Japan only RPGs out there that look amazing but I'd never be able to sit and play. Most action games you can just brute force through but nothing with lots of dialogue!

I'm still incredibly rusty, but I understand the language a fair bit more now. It seemed mind-boggling at first, but I get the construction of it. Just gonna take many many moons to truly get it.

I was just wondering, are there any new hobbies that you've been wanting to try out lately? Whether it's knitting, woodworking, calligraphy, or something else entirely, I'd love to hear about it!

I'd like to get better at soldering, especially building or repairing the really tiny stuff. I'm a handy person, always the go-to when someone wants something building... I'm just not great at the super-precise stuff. I'm finding as I'm getting older, my hands are definitely shakier than they used to be.. so that is going to be interesting.

I've got a soldering station set up in my loft... I just tend to cause more damage with it at the moment.
