News sites around the world are reporting that Legendary rapper DMX died today after a heart attack five days ago. But his manager is also claiming that DMX is still alive, clinging onto life support. I guess the final answer will be revealed at some point.. hopefully the articles are wrong and he is still with us.. but who knows? Even the BBC have reported it.

Seems a bit odd that the media would report he's dead - even going as far as quoting the family - if he isn't.. :reading_newspaper

I was just thinking I wasn't familiar with his work, but upon searching and listening to a few tracks I do recognise some of them - usually from films.

So it has been confirmed by his family that unfortunately he did die. He was basically in a vegetative state after his recent heart attack and eventually succumbed. Not sure why the heck his manager put up that media post now.

Yeah the reporting on this was kinda all over the place, a total shame to hear he really did die though. I had been meaning to try get into his tunes for a while now so I guess I have my excuse to finally start

I thought the same as well. I've heard of him but I thought that I had never listened to his music. I guess I was wrong because I'm actually quite familiar with a few of his tracks. Sad to hear that he died especially in such an awful way :(

Odd at generally younger age for most people to pass. Though his music is pretty good. Also wondering why so unsure. Oh well. He had some good music and movies.

From reading up a bit further out of sheer morbid curiosity, it appears that Steve Rifkind (his manager) made that post shortly after visiting the hospital, and DMX was on life support but deteriorating rapidly.. It still doesn't explain why the media was reporting the story and quoting the family though.
