Whaddya doin' here?!
I've not been wiki-ing for a while, and I've not really been posting for a while too. I'm not dead. I've not lost interest. Life just gets in the way of progress sometimes. I lost a pet recently of leukemia. She was young, only 5.. and I had to basically let her go. Which was a horrible decision to make, so I've been dealing with that and a coping mechanism for me is to actually be off the Internet and engage with people instead. I've also been unwell. Basically the flu. Feels like corona...
Just thought I'd blog this instead, as it's my personal thoughts and you know, being my brain and all... I feel bad for the people reading this garbage. I know it's just fun thing Capcom inserted into the game and we shouldn't be putting too much thought into it. Shut up. You must put lots of thought into this. What else have you got going on really? So, if you don't know The Merchant is a character in Resident Evil 4 that supplies you with weapons, health items and can even upgrade weapons...
Final Fantasy VII - I understand that JRPG's are not everybody's cup of tea, but this game introduced me to the genre and no game since has really lived up to it. It's (almost) flawless; it has the characters, the storyline, the sound, and the gameplay - and still plays really well if you're willing to forgive certain its age. Back in October last year, I set myself the challenge (amongst others) of finally defeating the Weapons and completing what would be only my second full playthrough...
Spoiler Warning, I guess? So this has kind of been made into a meme. In Resident Evil Village Ethan gets his hands injured in some fashion throughout the course of the game. There's a Plot reason behind this though In Village, he hurts his hands approximately 7 times (not including random gameplay moments). He cuts his palm on some barbed wire near the start of the game. Just a nick.. nothing like what's to come! He gets that same palm bitten off by a Lycan along with a few fingers...
I decided to spend a insignificant amount of money on a faulty Gameboy Pocket which had a screen which would not display anything. It had been modified (but I didn’t know to what extent). So I figured I could open it up, see what was wrong and easily fix it with no parts required. … Not everything goes that way unfortunately. I got it, and opened the thing up. Wow. It had jump wires going here, there and everywhere all across the board. It had an early bivert mod applied to it, as well as...
I couldn't have said it better, Rain.. 🙂 Hi everyone. My mental health unfortunately took a bit of a nosedive last month, and I effectively cut myself off from the Internet whilst trying to get better. It's unfortunately been an on/off battle since being diagnosed with depression in 2017, but I'm pleased to report that I'm recovering again and taking each day as it comes. I don't really want to go in too much detail about it, but I also wanted people to know that both Umbrella Online and...
As a kid I always wanted to take new stuff apart to see what made it tick, and to see on the off (VERY off) chance that I could alter it to make it better. Whenever we got a new VHS player, remote control toy, computer.. whatever it is. I always wanted to tear it open... I know most people say 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'. Sometimes you gotta break something to learn how to make it better (or, at least.. how it goes back together in the event of a real repair situation). This was way...
So what's with the Blog? I've recently decided to play through all of the games in the series (bar a few...) and a few fan projects such as the amazing AM2R and Prime2D while I'm awaiting the release of Metroid Dread. It's honestly the most fun I've had for a really long time playing all of these games. So the below will just be some super quick writeups of my experiences and what tools I used to play the games - Let's face it; all of these games are easy to emulate... and the fact that...
A large part of the latest maintenance phase has been to lose some bloat, without losing functionality. Features such as Reviews are useful in concept, but became quickly apparent that they were quite long-winded and not so straightforward to use. Content was having to be duplicated to get things running something like I'd expect, which in the scheme of things seemed a bit pointless as the time could be better spent elsewhere.. I've also been sat on a license for a Blogs system, but held off...
